I have a spare NOS valve and burner assembly here from a 2572 that looks exactly like yours with the exception of the valve knob and stem. The knob on mine is red in color and is permantley attached to the stem. The original generators for this Akron lantern are next to unobtanium and I'll bet this ...

Nice score but I've found out that these GPA's in sealed boxes are really just a source of torment. LOL . I've got a 1960's 200a Forest service lantern and a Duracamp 730 lantern in sealed boxes.

I hate too see this. Intentional or not. Turtles don't dart out in front of you. How can you not see them in the road. When ever I encounter one on the road I stop and pick them up and carry them off the road in the direction they are heading.

This must be pretty wide spread.
I was in my local Walmart last Sunday and so many items were missing from the shelves. I couldn't buy my favorite soda or my alternate favorite.
I thought it was because of the beginning of the month and welfare checks but after seeing this post maybe not.

There's a ton of accessories available out there that you can add to your Honda generators.
I added a milled aluminum oil change kit with dip stick and an hour meter and mounting bracket to mine. I've seen reserve gas tank kits and propane conversion kits also.

The 242K pricker I always thought of as a good idea that was poorly executed.
Other companies like Petromax, Turner brass works and those Spiegel Brooklure lanterns did it successfully, so what happened with Coleman ?

I guess I didn't consider bending rebar. I do have a propane torch. Only challenge would be figuring out how to get the right shape. I have an old Dewalt 4- 1/2" angle grinder that I bought in 1998 that has given me great service. It's still running but was thinking someday it will quit working. So on a whim I started looking around the net and found the exact model NOS and bought that one for a replacement when the time comes.

This seems like a good idea for any lantern model that had it's bail passing thru it's vent. But maybe make it out of a more durable metal so it lasts like stainless steel.

There was a Coleman made for Yale lantern that did use a wing nut but it was a little different than your standard wing nut in that it said Yale on it.
