First things first!  Thanks to fellow NC collector Allen for the stove itself.  Thanks to fellow forum member Dan (Buckeyecamper) for the grates.  Thanks to forum tips on use of older or Worthington propane tanks that are slim enough to fit. And, or course, thanks to OCP for the supply of new decals.

Saying this was a bit rusty is an understatement.  It needed wire wheel work followed by Evaporust. Got rid of rust – then some sanding to get rid of some of the rust pits – but not all of them….  Then Ultra high heat VHT paint (aluminum color) for the burner and high heat Ford Red for the body.

Works like a champ now.  Here’s a few before and after pics.  Bernzomatic TX500 00.jpg  Bernzomatic TX500 01.jpg  Bernzomatic TX500 12.jpg  Bernzomatic TX500 13.jpg  Bernzomatic TX500 14.jpg  Bernzomatic TX500 15.jpg

That looks great!!!  My Dad had one of these when I was little and I don't have any idea what ever happened to it.

Great job Phredd!! Do you buy chance have your red paint can? I've got one of these stoves that needs a complete rebuild and I've been trying to find a good paint match. Nice stove ðŸ‘

the red paint was VHT #Sp152 Ford Red. A bit redder that the original paint, but close enough and I had some on hand.
