Got my 2nd cast iron stove this weekend, both this year.  The other being the 373 cabin stove I posted about.
This one is going to be a bit kinder to me, it appears.
A well loved, survivor 415C from the early 40's.  The instruction tag still attached to the tank has a stamp of 10-39.  Not sure if that's a date and certainly printed independently of the stove, but may help narrow it to early run.
The outer case is in not bad shape, rust-wise.  The inside is a different story; a rusty mess.  
However , unlike many of it's bretheren from the same time period, the badge is remarkably good shape.

The tank is in decent shape with a lot of surface corrosion and paint loss on it, but inside inspection looks good. It is Solodur and a magnet sticks to it easily.  Unlike the badge, though, the sunrise stencil is very faint and only visible in certain light at certain angles.  
Both knobs were stuck but didn't take too much convincing to get unstuck. Pump was actually pumping but it got some oil anyway.  It has a 242 style pump cap, but it has a channel in which the ring clips into instead of holes.  3-piece fuel cap need pliers to convince off.  Once all this was done, plus a generator service, it was light, camera, action!

I've still got some work to do cleaning up the inner case and cast iron has a lot of surface rust.  
F/A does not work and needs a preheat. I'm hoping time and/or an alcohol soak will clear it up. If not I'll have to pull the tank.  Not sure why the inset the wind screens so far in the lid.  Aux control turns but doesn't slide.  Was able to easily remove both flame spreaders and hoping the whole burner will come off just as easily.

The 415C is 2nd to last in the line started with the Model 1 and ended with the 415D, as best I can tell.   It was preceded by the 9B (which came after 9H, go figure). I don't see much difference between the 9B and this one except different aux control knob and winged fuel cap.
Size-wise it is in between the 413's and 425's.  But these were definitely not built cheaply.  In size it is closer to the 425 , but in features probably closer to the 413.  It has a towel rack and much sturdier legs. The grate is double-hinged and articulates on two axes.  Gives more room on opening but also makes it slightly floppy.   It is very heavy.
Thanks for looking.  Now I just need a 416C to go with it!

Great flame pattern from those burners and you're right about it being a nice in between size.
