Driving down the road the other day and spotted this in the trash. Hit the brakes and backed up. Immediately thought lantern case.

It's dirty and needs clean up. A 200 fit's perfect with just needing to drill a hole in the double wall inner part of the lid for the bail nut. Or I could cut a bigger hole for a taller lantern. The bottom is also double walled so I could cut a circle out of that too.

Oh the idea's,,,,lol. Going to take the plunge,,,,lol.

You proved the point - one mans trash is another mans treasure! Cool.

Your image makes it look like a large cooler..lol..with our summer weather, use it for it's purpose until fall is here. Look at your other lanterns that are shorter and maybe you don't have to alter it?..campinut..

Boy oh boy Russ. I sure can tell you're from Mizzory. I gotta show you everything,,,,lol.

Plus this thing is nasty. No way would I drink out of it,,,lol.

It's an optical illusion. Cooler is smaller than you think. The Gold  Bond sit just barely below flush of the top of the cooler. The lid will barely not go on. But if I drill a hole on the inside for the bail but it will go on I'm sure.

Not sure if this will work on a larger lantern. But like I said befor. The lid and the bottom are double walled so I can gain a lot of room if I want to go through all that,,,lol.

I love recycling stuff. Wonder instead of drilling a hole you mite heat it up gently with a weight in an inverted top. It may expand enough to cover the vent nut   Just a thot.  Depends on how thick the top is of corse
