Setting today's goal high there Buzz with lanterns and stove 🙂

Just packing the wagon for the weekend over at the beach, overnight temps are a bit chilly being mid winter (but I won't mention that seeing there's some tough old roosters here that do proper winter camping)
A little sand and trail driving will refresh the mind.

I'll fire something up later.

Back to the beginning.
After I fell in love with the reliability and inbuilt safety features of Coleman stoves I bought my first lantern.

CA B/45 242b

It didn't disappoint, but I let it down...

Cleaned the fount, oiled the pump, cleaned the airways, made a cap casket, fueled it 0and put a really small modern mantle on and fired it up (embarrassed to say it's still the same mantle burning as it hasn't failed yet)
My first Coleman lantern was alive!!!

Brass/Sea foam fount polished up a treat and displayed it's life's patina so well!

I had been experimenting with Oxalic acid for rust treatment on stoves where i wanted to retain the paint with good results.... apparently on anything but a chipped rusty enamel vent it turned out.... I learnt the hard way and glazed the vent.

Still need to get it a new cleaning needle,  fit a decent size mantle when this one fails... and give it some (slighty) more experienced love...

But there it is, love it!
