I found a tilley at a local shop. The lantern looks great, not the usual beat up barn find, but the globe is missing. The shop wants $100 for it. I’m not really a Tilley guy so not sure if it’s worth that.

Be cautious, they multiply.
The red and gold were shipped  from England. They are plentiful over there and cost about $35 each (with globe and rebuild kit included) but shipping was an additional $30 each  The nickel one was Found right here near my home in California, previous owner fired it once and stored it away for 45 years or so...

Globes are expensive 40$  I tried out one of the 288 coleman globes, works ok and if I break it it only cost $6.

Without a doubt the easiest lanterns to work on.
The rebuild kits are cheap and installation is easy.  Their vaporizers are spendy but seem to clean up ok and I have not replaced one yet..Mantles are different and are online only.

They run a long time on a single pumping

What colour is it? $100 without a globe seems a bit steep to me.

I'd try to talk them down at least the price of a globe.

Thanks Rustytank. I wasn’t even sure what a fair price would be. I never dreamed I would find one in this area

For that price it should be near mint. They are about £30 and up in the UK depending on model. And shipping would keep it under $100 in all I expect. If you want one then hook up with a UK member who can get you a nice one.

Thanks! I thought that price was a little high. I figured $40 or $50 if I really HAD to have it, and then the price of globe, and I don’t even know if it runs yet
