I ran across this lantern at an abandoned storage unit sale.  I have never saw one before, I bought it for the nice vent thinking it will fit my green 200a.  Looks to take a special propane tank?  Any thoughts on what I should do with it?

Your opinions are endless. You can search 5101, 5120, 5122 and find many threads on them. You can occasionally find full cans of fuel or a lot of people refill the empty canisters or there are many conversion options available. Or you can strip and use it for parts. I kinda have a thing for them.  91E174E4-902A-411B-B7C6-11BF03FE28A3.jpeg
not looking for any more Bday gpas. Honestly, if you have a 10-72 don’t let me know about it.

Nice. Looks like it would clean up good. I found one real cheap for parts and ended up getting it to run with the adapter off the auction website.

Someone made a nice clock out of one of those.

If you want to try and fire up that lantern, I have about 40 of the fuel bottles that lantern takes.  Let me know if you want to try it out.
That's too nice looking to break up for parts!  Look up the threads on adapting modern canisters.  This is my picnic stove, also designed to use those canisters, with the adapter.

Kurt did a lantern lab video on it.
The lanterns are neat, I have a couple. I have lots of full canisters, but  just refill em when needed.

The lanterns, with a hose and canister hanging off of them, don't do it for me. With some bending you can get a modern canister into font, see below
Thanks for all the ideas.   It is a tough turn for me to take, propane sounds like a new rabbit trail.  I have a lantern issue now according to one of my kids.   I do have a pink picnic stove like the one you have Willy, but I didn't have any fuel cans for it either.  I picked it up because it was so cute.
