When our youngest daughter was down from Wyoming for a visit last month, I pointed to a couple of 200A's hanging in the garage and asked if she and her sister would be interested in some beater lanterns for when they go camping.  She said sure.
I pulled them down tonight to go through them and make sure they were up and running.
One needed a check valve and the other just needed a little cleaning.  Will box then up well with some mantles, matches, and a generator.  Tied on what mantles I had lying around

The weather predictors are calling for 3"-6" of snow tonight and throughout the day tomorrow.  Starting to come down pretty good.
Had my 228BC running tonight as well.

Hope you folks had a good evening too...................

Very nice, Mark, good to know your daughters are interested in having lanterns.  Looks like winter isn't over yet out your way; our only real snow was back in Jan., but last night it was about cold enough, and with some light rain, I expected to see flakes.
The big hat makes things a bit brighter, though.

I love the 200a, it was my first foray into Coleman and white gas as a fuel.  I keep it as my go to lantern as it is reliable, quick and easy to light and doesn’t require the preheating that my Tilleys and Bialaddins do.

Nice Mark. Good choice by the girls, those tall vent 200A's are much nicer than the newer ones.

Looks like a couple good runners for your girls! Thanks for sharing, Mark.

We also had a little overnight snowfall. It looked nice this morning; thankfully just a light coating, didn't even stick to the pavement.

Thanks for the comments.  Since I am starting to thin the user herd and the girls go camping all the time, I figured I would set them up with some lanterns to have for camp and around the house if need be.  The next time we’re able to head up to Wyoming, I’ll show the girls how to light them and perform a bit of preventative maintenance.  I’m also wanting to fab up some reflectors just in case they want some directional lighting.

The closest I got to any interest in Coleman products was when my younger daughter got excited about baking biscuits in the Coleman oven.  More about the watching them bake and then eating them.

Oh yea, the adult version of an easy bake oven!  I have already informed our kids that the only 2 GPA items that I would really want to pass down is the family 220E lantern and 443 stove.  Someone has to take them because I have sentimental feelings for those pieces.  The rest, not so important to me.

2:00 Mountain.  It has been snowing since last night and there's a lot of water in this snow!
Thought I'd share a picture of my yard art 200A.

Ha, that's funny, Bob!  It does look like a snow cone!

After I put some fuel into the lanterns so I could put the lantern through the paces, I put the empty can on the workbench.  Spying the can a couple of days ago, I remembered that I once made a reflector out an old can so I figured I'd make some for the girl's lanterns.  I hacked up the can with a pair of tin snips, smoothed the sharp edges, bent and drilled some aluminum flat bar, and this is what I ended up with.

Not the greatest craftsmanship ðŸ™ˆ but it will get the jobs done of either reflecting the light or blocking the light!

Well, I finally was able to deliver the lanterns to the daughters in Wyoming.  I had the globes frosted a while back and we lit them up once we had a chance.  I think they were happy with them!

Thanks, I have a hard time throwing stuff in the trash.  I’m looking forward to going camping with them as soon as we can and lighting up the camp!  Gotta have good lighting for the grandkids to see their way around.

Steve, they did appreciate getting some lanterns from ol’ Dad but I think just getting together again meant more.  They also got to go through my Dad’s old HO trains and pick out what they wanted.  Dad had a 9’x12’ layout that could run 3 trains at a time.  After 2 days in a car traveling from Wyoming to Cincinnati, the kids would race to the basement to play with the trains.  They have great memories of those trains!

We sure could use some snow about now, John, we are having some pretty bad fires.
