Anybody on here use synthetic kerosene? Tell us about it, please. Thanks.

I've only used "Kleen heat", it is great in a heater, lanterns are not quite as bright. It is low odor.

So far no issues with the Klean-Heat slightly less smell but slightly more money.  use it in my Pefection 130C, Aladdin & Reyo lamps also my Kero converted 220F.

I bought some fancy biodiesel once and tried it,  I don't remember all the reasons I discovered it was a bad idea,  no smell but it did not perform well. According to the msds it had a similar flash point as kerosene.

This stuff is:

I thought it was clear Kero, but the MSDS indicates it’s mostly mineral spirits/paint thinner. Flashpoint is around 100 DegF. I dumped it in my parts washer after reading that.

The synthetic Klean-Heat that Papa posted above has a flashpoint around 150 DegF.

Found that out when I was looking at fuels for my Dietz Vesta. The Klean-Heat burns pretty well in it and the odor isn’t too bad either.
