My neighbors had a sale this weekend. I stopped by early Fri. morning and checked it out. Not much of interest, just a couple of over-priced lanterns and stoves--285, 228H, 425C and 425E.

I don't need any of these, and didn't feel like haggling over price would be effective first thing in the morning on the first day.

Saw today that everything was half-price, so I stopped by after lunch. Now haggling was worth the effort!

I came home with two packs of #21A Silkies, two 220 gens and a 425E in fair condition, all for $5. The 228H, in rough shape, was free with the mantles and gens. It has a Century globe--never seen one in 220 size.
It's priceless until someone puts a price on it.

Paid for the mantles and everything else free! Definitely paid to wait. Nice score ðŸ‘

That ain’t too bad at all, Timm. I recently acquired one of those 220-size Century globes in a purchase of some assorted GPAs. Thought it was a pretty neat piece of glass.

Thanks.

The 228H may get electrocuted--I can't sell these things. The 425E will get a full cleaning and probably move on to a new home--I've been getting the local river guides hooked back into liquid-fuel stoves!

Nice scores Timm. Sometimes it pays to jump and sometimes it pays to wait it out. Which one to do is always the gamble.
