Farmer Brown
Hello, I picked up a slant lantern awhile back thinking at the time it was a 228D. I guess I don’t know why they were slanted to begin with and what era were they? I also have no idea why I cannot load photos up of it.
No matter how ugly, old stuff works the best.

Slant is 1928-29 time period. Part of the move from the quicklite to the instant-lite. Someone with more info will be able to flesh it out for you soon.

That’s a short period. A lot must have been sold for one year?

The Slant burner is the way it is so that the valve can also operate the T88 generator tip cleaner in the same manner as a suitcase stove. They deleted that feature in favor of the Q77 generator about the same time they changed to the solid Bakelite knob.
