That's another non-constructive post.  That particular member has an apparent infatuation with memes, as 90% of his posts are memes, and about 77% of those don't make any sense.

First, it's not a "meme" ..... it's a picture.
Now .... I'll explain it to both you and Levi ....
Before you jump on a project that might be a little beyond your level of expertise, you might want to consider taking it in smaller steps and asking for advise FIRST (training wheels) before crashing and burning on something that's a little too big to handle at present.
Now, Mr. Rob .... remember ..... a picture is worth a thousand of your words ....
You see, it WAS constructive and makes a lot of sense ...

I know, I can tell you're not the typical 13 year old, but a lot of newer members don't stick around, and stupid comments by "veteran" members don't help.

It happens on every forum; a group of know-it-alls  comment on or criticize the actions of others without providing any constructive help.  There's just no point to it, other than trying to increase your post count.

Patience is tough when you're 13... just try to take your time, and if something doesn't work, try something else before resorting to brute force.

Well Rob, I'm thinking you might be more offended than Levi.  He seems to be a pretty together young man and I certainly hope he sticks around for the long run.  I may be a "veteran", but I don't consider myself to be a know-it-all by any means, and certainly don't try to act that that way.  I was going to offer him a replacement burner for that CLX (gratis) as I have many, but by the time I read the post he had already ordered one.
That being said, Levi, if I offended you or hurt your feelings in any way, I'm truly sorry.

I don’t take offense to a lot of stuff but when I do it’s not so bad. You’re right anyway. I haven’t seen that karate kid. Which is actually called “The Next Karate Kid.” I just always thought that a girl karate kid would ruin my fondness of the original trilogy, like how the Disney Star Wars has ruined my fondness of the original six.

It's training wheels, the kid is learning. If you're addressing what I posted, I'm going to tell the kid what he needs to hear. I'm not going to be ugly, but I'm not sugarcoating either and a bunch here seem to agree.

Actually I thought your posts were quite constructive; plausible solutions to the problem at hand.  (Except for maybe the "vice grips" comment.)

And I agree that most people respond well to constructive criticism.  It's the non-constructive commentary that we can do without.

Levi, ideally you shouldn't need to buy eccentric blocks... But in the off chance you do I'm sure someone here will have what you need. Just try to slow down and ask for help here if you don't understand something. You'll figure it out. Just keep up the good work ðŸ‘

@Leviticus Tomethreus that yellow/gold coloring is normal for the collars on those lanterns. It (kinda) goes with the gold trimmed label on the fount.

You could wash it with some dish soap and water then shine it up with some wax. I’d be afraid of using anything abrasive on it, you run the risk of removing the printing.

Levi,

I admire your enthusiasm.  I think you would find more success with your repairs and restorations if you take a few deep breaths and slow down to take the time to think through your repair and restoration steps or search here for how others have solved similar issues.

You can always go further or do more with a lantern, but if you get in a hurry or use an overly abrasive or heavy handed method, you can't turn the clock back and start over.

That is the color it should be. Coleman put a type of clear coat over the printing and that is the damage you are seeing. Other than some soap and water, there is not much you can do to clean these up. If you remove the clear coat, you run the risk of damaging the printing.
