As most of you know, we held the first Southeast Coleman Collector's Gathering yesterday and it could not have been better.  We had excellent weather, a super location and more people than anticipated.  There were SUPER people sharing expertise, displaying treasures, buying treasures, selling treasures and trading treasures.  Most importantly however, we had a day of fun and camaraderie.  It just doesn't get any better.
We all appreciated the special efforts (behind the scenes) of Chuck Grice for coordinating the excellent facility arrangements at Red Top Mountain State Park and the many details that make for a truly successful gathering.  THANK YOU CHUCK!

Well, what a day. The weather was custom ordered, there were a ton on people there, good food, good friends (old and new), and lots of Coleman treasures.
Thanks Ed, I appreciate all of the accolades.

I will have pictures posted soon.  The official count as Assasin said was 166.  Not too bad for the first gathering.

Many thanks to everyone that came and contributed.  It was a true GROUP effort that made it fantastic!!!!!

Thanks Again!
Amazed every day that I made it this far!

I know how you feel, there is nothing better than the people we are fortunate to meet through the lanterns that we love. Sounds like everyone had a really great time and WOW that is a lot of lanterns you were able to have lit on your first outing.

Just got in about an hour ago myself. Decided to take Nicholas to the Tellus science center as a reward for behaving so well for us during the ride down and during the meet as well. If I hadn't been feeling so bad Friday from an apparent ocular migraine, Well I'm not really sure but, my vision was kinda tunneled gray and not focused. Despite going to bed before 8pm which I haven't done in.... well I can't remember when. I slept in till 7-8am and still had to quickly check over my half of the few I brought. And was very stiff/sore from sleeping too long! Once I finally limbered up I got on the road and no more than made it out of my County I had a trooper pull a u-turn on me... I was doing about 62 in a 55. It was then I remembered that my wife had a left brake light out.... Hrrrmmm can we look like we are sight seeing for a bit and hope he gets tired of following us while I don't use the brakes. Sure enough about 2-3 miles he passed on an incline with a truck lane. Whew! Then my son wants to plug his PA's GPS in with ours as well... Not good. blowed the lighter fuse and wouldn't you know it I didn't even think to print a paper map. Stopped at a store for some snacks and lucky enough not only did Mitsubishi put a few spares in the fuse panel cover they even include a set of pullers to swap them out as they are those tiny jobs.

I arrived with just enough time to unpack the dozen I brought, put a couple of mantles on, fuel up, and visit with most of you shortly before the light up. I hope the next trip I can pack the night before and leave out early. Everyone asked about 3-4 of mine but I was so overwhelmed with how many others there were I would have liked to here some of the stories behind those.

I've got a few pictures to share and hopefully a short youtube to load up... But I've GOT TO catch up a few things around here first.

BTW Thanks to So many who made this event! Chuck thumbs UP! My family LOVED the spot even though at the time we got there the sun was in our eyes and I circled shelter 6 twice looking for 7. I couldn't see the road that dropped down the hill. :-o

Kay Thanks for coming out and taking some info and pictures.... Can I have my next issue now?

My only regret of the trip. I really wanted to bring my PQ! Maybe next year.

Awesome pictures, (quality and content), looks like a great time. I could not imagine seeing so many great pieces in one place.

You meet thousands of people and none of them really touch you, and then you meet that one person, and your life is changed forever.
