Welcome to the Coleman Collectors Forum!  Our mission is to provide information and support of the hobby of Coleman collecting.

Threads that tend to get off track and political. The moderators are volunteers here, as such we have normal lives outside of watching the forum. When we have a thread or topic that is known to be problem prone or has in the past gotten passionate and/or political we will usually first delete a few of the offending postings, after that the thread is locked or removed. Please remember our simple guidelines, no inflammatory or political postings or foul language. Please do not be that member that feels their opinion is too important not to be heard, for these type postings there are countless other forums designed to get your view out, please use one of them. Thanks

Please think of the Coleman Collectors forum as a community of fellow collectors with like interests.

1. When posting on the forum, please make sure your content is mature, unobjectionable, and within good taste. Posts that are deemed offensive, political, rants, or inappropriate will be deleted. Be civil, no personal attacks will be tolerated. Leave the political soap box off the forum, no flaming or inflammatory posting.  The "Just Bull" section is for fun, not an agenda or personal rants. Please no wink wink stuff you know will become political.
.
Please do not ask what an item is worth in your post, we do not do evaluations or appraisals here.  Check Ebay completed
listings to get an idea of values.

2. If you encounter a problem with bad behavior, contact a moderator to address it. Do not make your case in a post. Moderators can not address member problems that occur outside the forum, sales, trades, personal messages.

It is not permitted to discuss the moderating practices of the forum ON the forum.  If you have questions or comments about how something has been moderated, PLEASE send a Personal Message to a moderator and discuss it privately.  DO NOT start a threat to air your grievances about forum moderation.  All such threads will be deleted and may lead to suspension of the member.

Also, if you have questions about how the forum is run, or about a particular member please, write one of the moderators about it.  We will explain anything to the best of our ability, just please do not start a thread if you think there are forum issues or if you have a complaint or comments about the forum or another member.  Member's questions to moderators are perfectly fine to ask in a Personal Message, and we will do our best to answer you.

3. The Forum Moderators reserve the right to edit or delete posts or threads that do not abide by the above guide lines. What may not seem controversial to one member, may be to another. Subjects deemed controversial may be deleted at any time with or without reason. Some topics are best posted in forums dedicated to that topic.  Breaking of these simple guidelines may result in your account being suspended or removed.

4. One membership account per member, adding another or several accounts will cause them all to be removed.

5.
Do not post live Coleman and related GPA ebay auctions.  Fellow members may be watching
and bidding, intending to acquire an item they desire.
Exceptions include humorously overpriced items and informational posts regarding fakes and
fraudulent GPA items represented as genuine.

6.  Do not double post in separate sections of the forum or in separate threads in the same forum section.  In other words, if you have a reply or thread you wish to post, please pick the appropriate forum section for your thread or post and use that section.  Please do not enter the same post in multiple sections or threads of the forum.  If you feel you have posted in a section that does not fit your post, ask a moderator to move your post to an appropriate section/thread on the forum.

7. The moderators of the CCF Forum have the final decision as to what constitutes an infringement of the rules as well as the responsibility to remove, edit, move or close those posts that they see as being harmful to a forum, and to remove persons from the membership rolls for serious or repeated infractions. (note below in Netiquette)

From wikipedia:
In Internet slang, a troll (/ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people,[1] by posting inflammatory,[2] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a forum, chat room, or blog), either accidentally[3][4] or with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[5] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.[6]

Forum Netiquette

The moderators of the CCF Forum have the final decision as to what constitutes an infringement of the rules as well as the responsibility to remove, edit, move or close those posts that they see as being harmful to a forum, and to remove persons from the membership roles for serious or repeated infractions.

All members of a forum have the right to contact the moderators privately if there is a need to further explain a position or a post.

ADVERTISING

The purpose of a Forum is a free and open exchange of ideas. It is understood that there are times when the idea itself requires that a product be mentioned, critiqued or evaluated.

The definition of  'Blatant Advertising' is at the discretion of the moderators of a Forum.

References to other forums is not permitted, if you like what you read on a forum, post it on that forum.

APPROPRIATE TOPICS

Cross-posting  (i.e. post the same message in more than one forum board) is rude.  Choose the forum topic that is closest to your post, and place it there only.  If you should create a post in one forum, and later realize it would be more appropriate in another forum, the moderators can move it for you.
