@hikerduane I’d reach out to Dawn at the UPS store she’s very accommodating! I emailed and called her to tell her there was a 10$ lot I didn’t want shipped. She’s attentive!

More questions.  Low bid amount on the group of 6 lamps/lanterns, why?  Not that great, stress cracked or high shipping?  Not collectible for the high rollers?
No call yet from UPS.  Longest time before items are shipped from past auctions?  Over anxious here, I won three sets of six and some desirable parts it looks like to me.
Duane

I picked up some lots of not overly desirable lamps because each had at least one item I wanted. Now I'm sitting looking at 13 lamps and it appears they all are serviceable.  13 shades plus 3 # 355's plus some generators plus fuel plus Citrus plus Mothers plus 55 gallons of Grease, Elbow.
And I paid 5% premium and no shipping.
You might be better off cutting your losses and selling that lot to Mike in Leavenworth cause Mike in Topeka ain't buying no more and Mike in Leavenworth has lots of room and he's young so lots of energy (Grease, Elbow).😉

Seriously,  you and the pup will have something to do on rainy days, you working and the pup napping.

I hope some of my lamp winnings are complete.  I see one small part Steve needs, but I'll have to see if I need it.  Not too concerned with many of the lanterns that were mixed in, maybe one or two might peak my interest.  Definitely something to keep me busy a week or two.

I won one item, talked to Dawn at UPS on Monday, recieved package yesterday. She said the auctioneer gave her instructions to double box everything. As in EVERYTHING. My item was not easily breakable and over packed in my opinion, but arrived safely. I'm guessing after the last auction where several things were broken during shipping, this has become his new policy. Also, the UPS rep has a copy of your invoice and asks if you want insurance to cover the value of your item. Both the auctioneer and UPS rep were very considerate and polite. So I would say be patient and confident that your items are in good hands.
Hope this is informative for some of you.

Steve, ya need my lot#?
Thank you guys for the info, I'd be happy with my stuff to have packing around them, or even split up into 2 or 3 lamps per box.  Being some what patient, not calling the store so they can do their job.  Guess they will provide a trk# when they call me or when info is exchanged or maybe even email the trk# after cc info is given.

I have my phone glued to me just in case!
I actually have a lot I didn’t think I won, and some small things I definitely over paid for. Plus some other good stuff. I was the beneficiary of @SteveRetherford misfortune. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut sometimes. I’m tightening him up too!
I should have sent my son the 1100 miles to pick up my winnings and buy that 17SA Chandelier! My hollow wire stash needs some attention before major additions.
Thank you!
Kevin

Did you bid me up on the 17s? Lol

Either way it now resides in New Mexico

Actually after looking I did, I stopped at $1,400.00. My son had already agreed to the 1100 mile one way road trip. I think you got a very good deal on that.

Whoop, whoop!  Dawn called, lamps wrapped around the stems, alternating directions, should have Tuesday.  Over $200 shipping.  18 lamps/lanterns.  Glad I was inside for the call, their system didn't like my address so she over rode it.

$200 shipping on that many lamps and lanterns does not sound that bad to me.. does add up on the overall cost I'm sure... Be sure and post your winnings when they show up.

I received the Whirlpool lantern.  Globe was separately bubble wrapped and boxed, lantern was cocooned in bubble wrap and all was packed in a good sized box with bubble bags.  They did a good job.

Still waiting to hear about my stuff. I did speak with Dawn the Monday after auction about packing things. Was told they are double boxing things. From what I've seen in previous posts it seems they have stepped up their game and doing a better job then before. That's great to hear. Have fingers crossed my stuff won't be to much over $200.00 to get here.

My four boxes arrived yesterday. A couple of large boxes and two medium set me back $143.

The packaging was outstanding and exceeded my expectations. I’m a little a*** retentive when it comes to packaging so I was pretty specific with what lots I felt would combine well. Dawn had her people package exactly how I asked which saved me some $ as well. Being a thrifty dude I had them sent to my shop which saves 5$ a box UPS. Remember boxes that are light, bill out based on their dimensional weight so it is possible to Save dollars by shipping multiple pieces Instead of one large box. The bonus is it helps mitigate damage.

As much as I was tempted to buy lamps n shades I was too paranoid to ship any. Next auction with an outstanding catalog like this and I will have someone in the room to deliver my purchases. It will end up costing me more but it’ll be an excuse to buy more lower priced lots and perhaps something extra special.

I lit my 40$ 427 after a minimal dust off last night. She’s a very nice runner
Heres dual 4/26 427 lit, one from the auction other from a waffle.

Thank you!

I guess for me if a next time, I can ask to have customized packaging, might have saved three lamps arriving with bent tops.  Thanks for the info regarding box size.
