Picked up a 413D over the weekend.  I have a couple questions about it.
1. What is the top bar on the lid intended for?
2. Is there a way to get the exact date?  I do not see a stamp under the tank tabs or on the case.

Thanks in advance

The bar is to hold the lid level when let back all way. Makes a good work surface. It is often call a towel bar, and may work for that too.

Put a cap gasket in fill cap and fire it up!!!   A 413D has sat on my porch for years.

Coleman started dating the stove tanks in 1963.  The 413D was produced from 1950 to 1953.

I have not tried to fire it up yet.  I have leather and rubber if needed 😉
