Our son is in the Air Force. A couple weeks ago he sent us a picture of his college certificate. Associate in Applied Science Aviation Maintenance Technology. We are proud of him, until this past Friday. Had to wait til it was made public to say anything. He passed his test and is now a Technical Sergant! Now we are really proud of him. He was in Germany for 4 years and is now in Japan, where he will stay for another 4 years. He's been in 11 years now and plans on staying in for the duration. Now I start saving so mom can go visit him next year.

Congratulations to him! I never made it to E-5, as it was much harder in my job field than E-4.
Please tell him Japan is a great place, and he'll enjoy it; I spent about 2.5 years there, and loved it (and it was on an air base.)

Congrats to him (and you and Mom).  He's doing well; promotion, degree, Germany, Japan!  A wonderful opportunity for young people looking for adventure, education, advancement, and service to our country.  Wish I could do it all over again. Aloha.
Bill.
