I just pick this lantern up for $7.  I didn't really need the lantern but it came with 2 packs of silk light mantles, so why not?  If I got it, it needs to work.  But... it leaks when I screw on the canister.  I figured it was that corkish gasket.  Is there a place where I can buy  a replacement?  I didn't see one at OCP.  Is there any place else that could be causing the leak?  The soap bubbles come from that connection where the tank screws on.

I love that orange vent!

Would this be the gasket you need?

I saw that and the outer diameter is right but the inner diameter is not right.  It’s too small.

I do have the mushroom lantern and a 3 burner orange stove.  They are kinda fun in a 70’s way.  If i find a 2 burner at a bargain price I’ll add it to the collection.

Jim, I checked that one out and while the OD is right the inner diameter is too small.

If just the ID, I personally would go for it.  I figure it'll have a little give to fit, or I'd probably try to punch it out bigger.  Although I wouldn't have a punch that size, I was thinking if you took a pencil and removed the eraser, you could use that barrel as a punch to take a little out at a time until it fit.  Not pushing you either way, it was just a thought I had.

Harbor freight has a set of chisel type hole punches fairly cheap. Or you could measure the I.D. of the old gasket and freehand it with an exacto knife.

Check the gasket kits at Harbor Freight. They have one with an assortment of gaskets. There was one in there that fit the Coleman propane gasket like this really close. I used it on one of my Propane lanterns. I have one of the Sears lanterns. If I get the time, I will see how close they match.

Also check a real hardware store if you are lucky to still have one in your town.  If they don't have the right part they maybe can order it or tell you were to get it.  While I admit to going to HF, it is my last resort since most products are cheaply made and made in China.

If it is cork, try putting a drop or 2 of oil on it and let it soak in. I've done this on a couple with good results

I have order these and they work on propane lanterns and stove regulators.
