Happy New Year!

I just looked at the calendar and realized the Lacey Gathering is only eight weeks away! .

The date is March 14th!

For the newer members that haven't been to a Lacey gathering before, this is a bit of what happens. The conference room has been reserved and paid for in advance and the Event Insurance the hotel requires is still needing to be bought. The conference room rent, that has never been increased in the now 8 years we have been there, is $200.00. This may sound like a lot but if 20 of us want tables, the cost to each of us is only $20 each, or less including the insurance. As usual, we will "pass the hat" at some point during the day.

As in previous years, we can order pizzas from Costco or another store. This has cost us a $5.00 each and again the hat gets passed for lunch. Let me know if we should do this again.

I will put the Gathering on Craigslist Event Calendars in Washington and Oregon but the if CL ad sniffers find duplicates, they may delete them. It seems each one needs a separate email address to disguise one ad from another. I may need help here. If you would like to make a listing in one of the deleted CL cities, let me know and I will show you how.

I will also try to get listings in the Seattle, Tacoma & Olympia newspapers and on KIXI radio and Channel 13 event calendars as I have in the past.

A week or two before the gathering, I will run ads on Craigslist for sale. If you are selling and can take some pics of the items you are selling. I can include them in the ads. Pricing isn't essential, so don't worry about that.

If you are considering staying at the Best Western Lacey Inn & Suites (where the gathering is happening), you might want to make a reservation soon. Mention you are part of the Coleman Collectors to get the good room rate, which is the same as previous years at $109.00 plus tax and this rate has remained the same for the last few years but note:

The room rates are going to go up on February 1st!!! So, if you can, make your reservation before the end of January to save a few dollars!!!

When you make your reservation ,
DO NOT USE THE BEST WESTERN 800 NUMBER!!
CALL THE HOTEL DIRECTLY at 360-456-5655!!

If anyone wants to save a few dollars, consider sharing a room.

Again, if you want a table. please let me know.

I am sorry to say I will be missing another gathering. Things have become busy after events of the past year and the next few months could determine whether or not I remain in the area I live or if I end up moving...hoping to bet some things sorted out soon.

Hello Murff,

Can I reserve a table if there are still spots available? Do people normally setup their tables Friday night or Saturday morning? I don’t really want to leave my stuff in the car overnight wondering if I need to take it up to my room or if the conference room is available and secure.

Thanks,
Chris Pearson
