What are your guys thoughts on these. I personally hate them. I just got my clx burner in the mail, with packing peanuts. They just make a mess.  F880F41F-5055-4C87-AB16-FB1744246DA1.jpeg

You won’t know they’re starch until you test them.

Put em in some warm water

Not my favorite packing material, especially if on the receiving end.  Of course, better than terrible packing and broken parts!  I fish out my item, then dump the box in a clean trash bag to reuse.  If it is a nice size box, I just close it up with the peanuts in there for next use.

Try to use them up when I'm sending something, but also try to put them in a plastic grocery bag to keep them contained.  Since they are already in the stream, might as well re-use them, unless they're the bio-degradable starch ones.

Amazon seems to really like the inflated "pillow," plastic bags.  They're okay for reuse also, but sure take up room.

They are not good for heavy items.  They will move around and the heavy item will get near the edge and get damaged.

A lot of times when I use them, I put them in plastic grocery bags and tie them closed to make pillows, then use those to protect items.  You can make big or large depending on your needs and they will not move around and don't make a mess when the box is opened.  Sometimes I will use some loose ones to fill in voids when I'm shipping stuff.

I try to recycle as much as I can but sometimes a weak box just needs to be tossed.

If you get too many you can take them to a UPS or Fed Ex Store (or used to be able to), and I've given bags away of them on Freecycle.  Excess Boxes and Bubble pack as well.  I used to use it all up myself back when I sold on Eprey.  That stopped when they required me to accept PP.

Ghost farts.

I try to train our employees to bag them up, either for reuse or for disposal. They, of course, don't, so then there are ghost farts blowing around the neighborhood.

The starch ones are basically cheese doodles without the orange, cheese-flavored dust.

But yeah, I hate the foam packing peanuts, too.  I don't ship much out so I usually just trash any I receive.  Not environmentally friendly, I know, but it keeps the ghost farts out of my cellar, 😉

Static electricity with a small vacuum will make them fly out of the box upon opening. It is especially noticeable when you pull your new item out of the bounce house. They fly everywhere! But ya gotta love em! Just keep them in circulation and nobody will be the wiser!

I didn't like Eprey telling me how I must accept payment, so they could line their pockets further.  They should have been busted by the federal government for antitrust; and PP should be treated like any other bank in the US (Which they are in most of the rest of the world).  It's a sham that people that handle $$ on the scale they do aren't held accountable like any other bank in the US.

I won't discuss any further, or it get's politicized.
