Last week I found an online auction listed about 35 miles from me that included an Attic Fan that I was interested in.  The auction was closing on Friday evening.   It also had this lot listed:

Lot# 0353: Collection of Camping Equipment and Supplies, Three (3) Chairs, Coleman Fishing Box with Tackle, Lanterns, Fuel, Cooler, Tarps, Shovels

The listing included this photo:

I immediately spotted the 228 Big Hat, the Coleman fuel can, and the propane lantern case.  I also saw a Coleman box behind the 228 and another on the shelf above it.  I called the auction company and spoke to the owner who was at the auction site and asked about those items.  One was a Classic Adjustable Lantern and the other an air mattress.  When I saw on Friday that I was likely going to be successful on the Attic Fan, I decided to get serious on bidding on this lot.  I was successful on both of my bids and picked up the goods on Saturday.  I think I made a pretty good haul.

GPA and related items included an 8/68 228F with a red-letter globe, a like-new 05/03 288 with Germany globe, a 10/69 502 stove with the complete case that was hidden in the milk crate, an empty propane lantern case, and two Coleman fuel cans that are about 3/4 full.

Other Coleman items included 3 like-new deck chairs, the queen size air mattress, and an Inflate All 12-volt air pump.

Also, a Coleman Convertible cooler that was in a separate photo in the sale listing.

Neither of the fishing tackle boxes was a Coleman, but they did contain some nice fishing supplies.

The shovels turned out to be two entrenching tools - one of the old style and one of the newer Tri-Fold ones that appears to be new.  The milk crate also held a True Temper Boy Scout hatchet and a nice old-style Plumb hatchet.

Great chairs.  I have had two of them with the table since they first came out, probably over 20 years.

Light Up Time - The 288 and the 502 were good to go as found except for new mantles on the lantern.  The 228 required a check valve change, a new generator, a new fuel cap gasket, and a major clean up of the fuel air tube.  The propane case was empty but I did have a propane lantern that I had bought for the picket fence globe on it.  I did have to improvise a bail and modify the base of the case because the lantern has a piezo lighter.

That's a great haul! I know this is a Coleman site, but I'd love to see some info on that telescoping fly rod.
