Now that I have retired I have developed a re-interest in Coleman suitcase stoves.  I just bought a 413G that needs major attention.  This forum sounds like the place to be and to learn.  At this point it looks like I can bring it back but...I need a new clip that secures the grate to the case, I need a new tank filler cap (or I should replace the inner rubber ring) and I may need a manifold. What is the best way to navigate through this forum for the parts and some technical advise?  Thx

Welcome Tom.
Tech info is in the above, top forum.  Parts needed can be posted in the Classifieds down below on the forum home page.  Cap gasket is all you need for the cap.  Why do you need a new manifold?

Lookup lanternlab on YouTube. One of our members makes the videos. They are wonderful. There is one for fixing a 425. It is just a smaller version of what you have. Most of it will be similar. Welcome from NE Indiana.

Hello and welcome to the CCF from NC, Tom.  Great to have you here.  The 413 is my favorite stove.  Sounds like yours will be up and running soon.

Welcome to the forum from Michigan.

Great stove, the 413's. New cap gasket, oil the pump leather, and clean out the bugs and nests - all should be well (usually). Yes, post in the "Technical Assistance" area any more questions about the operation of whatever ya got.

Thanks to everyone for the welcome!  Duane, good question about the manifold...it’s completely rusted but no apparent holes. I may have made a hasty assumption that it looked so bad it should probably be replaced.  But I have seen some restoration vids where the manifold was brush clean and painted with heat tolerant paint.  I’m thinking I should try try the stove before just replacing parts like the manifold.  Thanks again for the info.

Definitely try it out before you go buying arts, TOm.  These old war horses are very resilient and your 413 may surprise you.  If the manifold is solid, give it a good brush out with a round aquarium cleaning brush and fire 'er up.
