Well a month ago I had stoves and lanterns. I decided to try a lamp. Something happened and now I have six. My wife found this one today. Pretty easy cleanup.

Thanks Levi if the PO wouldn't have used pliers on the fuel cap it would be nicer.

Beautiful lamp Dominic, looks like it cleaned up nicely. It is interesting how they multiply so quickly 🤔😂.

P.S. It is nice that your wife is on the look out too, my girlfriend is good at that also.

Ken.

I do need shades. The amount of money I have in these lamps is minimal. I feel that will change as I start finding shades. But it sure is nice to sit on the pouch next to a lamp that doesn't burn those white spots in your eyes.
Now I need to figure out a box to carry one and take it to camp.

Found this shade at menards for 16 bucks.
It's not old not original and not mica as advertised. But it works. Ran it for a half hour and it seems to hold up. Temp on the shade was 150 degrees. Click image for larger version - Name: 20200816_125213_copy_1008x567.jpg, Views: 37, Size: 109.50 KB

That shade looks great!  I need to do more new shade shopping.  I carry a tape measure everywhere just to check shade sizes, and have had good luck at garage sales and flea markets, but I never really considered new.

No shame in running non-original shades.  I even had a spell where I was determined to find one so small I could set it on fire.  Even a straight 8" does just fine with a globe for protection.

I bet that one is pretty enough to have a place on display.

I will be running this lamp more this weekend. I'm not convinced it will hold up. I'll report back.

I think its made of maybe fiberglass .

That is mighty fine looking, I hope it holds up too.

Were you disappointed with no nickel to polish?

Thank you!
Kevin
I frighten easily!

My current shade is Coleman!!

To me a lamp without a shade is creepy!

Sweet lamp, Dominic and how nice that your wife spotted it for you!  Slap on a MIC NorthStar globe, find a box for the lamp and pack the shade separately.  Lamps are great to take camping when you don’t want/need a bright blinding light.

Can you give us some dimensions on that shade?  It just looks right on that lamp.  Shade measurements are usually bottom and top diameter and the height from top to bottom measured on the outside.

Bottom to top 7 3/4
Top 6
Bottom 10

Only cost 16 bucks. I will put it to the test this weekend. With about 2 hours on it now seems good.
