  • I finally found a protect-a-screen for a CQ lamp. It was smashed flat. I soaked it in evaporust and pushed a few areas back in the ring did some crimping, bending, unbending and it looks pretty good.
It is missing the set screw. Does anyone have a picture of what it looks like. Pretty sure I can't find an original but would like to come close with a replacement.

Thanks. I was wondering if they used thumb screws. I'll head to Ace. I need some high heat paint for it anyway.

Thanks. That hockey puck was a pretty good dolly for getting the creases out of the screen. Only took two beers.

Nice work. Mine was bent up pretty good when I found it too. It took a while, but I got most of it pushed out and back into shape with my finger tips. I got it close and I haven't tried to finish it yet.

What is a cq lamp
My friends don’t call me “Lantern Levi” for nothin’,
if they did call me that.

Looking for bday lanterns 8/38, 8/41,
10/25, and 8/07

The biggest lie I tell myself is
”I don’t need to write that down, I’ll remember it.”

Here is one of my CQs. The screen goes under the glass shade to keep bugs from breaking the exposed mantles. Click image for larger version - Name: 20200724_220422_copy_1008x567.jpg, Views: 24, Size: 167.22 KB
