I was finally able today to score my first ever Model M lamp locally. We had several stops to make on the way home tonight but I was able spray it down with Simple Green then spritz it down for a half hour with oven cleaner.
There are two minor dents in it and no signs of stress cracks. It has been converted to a CQ burner but I’m happy.

That’s sharp, Greg. The nickel really looks great on it, too.

Dominic I misunderstood your question!
I frighten easily!

My current shade is Coleman!!

To me a lamp without a shade is creepy!

Model M has a Torch lighting generator with a pricker at the top scewed into the burner casting. Model Q has a Quick-Lite generator/burner but more importantly model Q does not have the model number stamped in the base plate.  Yours marked as model M in the base but with a QL burner makes it a conversion. A very nice find either way as these small turban fount lamps are hard to find. ::Neil::

Thanks for all of the great compliments guys! I have a little down time tonight, I’m going to remove the burner and start cleaning it then see if I can message that dent out.
