So this is a 200A that I picked up last fall. The fount was ratty so I threw a paint job on it and went through all the mechanicals. The fount date is October 1954. The vent looks from a later date and is in great shape as is the frame. I tied on a 500CP Petromax mantle and fired it up. Wow does this thing run! I have a couple of 242C's and a 243 that I run smaller mantles on. It's really satisfying to get these running again.

not looking for any more Bday gpas. Honestly, if you have a 10-72 don’t let me know about it.

I bet it'll never be ratty again.  I don't think I've ever seen a bail bumper.  Nice touch.

looks nice. Is the band steel?
Maybe someday you'll run across a "tall" (as opposed to "High") vent, which is what they used prior to about 1963 some time.
The paint looks pretty darn good. What did you use?

Yes, steel band. The paint looks good from 5 feet, there are some small runs. I used Rustoleum sunrise red. It's an ok match with the vent which is a tad more on the maroon side of things. More importantly to me is that this is an easy starting, good running lantern.

Your lantern looks really good! Rustoleum Sunrise Red is my choice for the 200A also.

Looks good! 200a's are bulletproof once they're dialed in.

Yes, these lanterns really preform with some TLC. I think they rival a 220 with the proper mantle. I find myself drawn into the utility, beauty and engineering of the whole Coleman family of stoves and lanterns. The journey continues.
