A friend of my brothers was downsizing and getting rid of it. He gave it to me. I did not know it was rare until I joined this forum.

Not a common one for sure. There has been some members buying them recently from over seas... England maybe? Seems Coleman is producing them for export only now.

The friend lived in San Francisco. I assume she got it there. No address on the box.

Very nice. The 282 is the only member of the dual fuel family that I don't have yet.

The single mantle adjustable lanterns are fantastic camping lanterns. They are bright when turned up but when throttled back they are great near the campfire marking the trail until needed.

Yes, I took it on my last camping trip to the redwoods.  It did a fine job.

Welcome to the forum Michael.

Great way to introduce yourself with a hard to find lantern! Good on you though.

I'm on the lookout for one and have been for years.
