i thot my dual fuel gen was plugging up soI took it apart. The dimple that holds the pricker rod from coming out I got out easily by heating the gen red hot then just pulled it out. See pic. Was surprised to see no spring in there like a kero  gen. Looks like there’s another star disk at the upper end. So can i just clean the gen best I can and reinsert the cleaning rod  with the star washer and reuse this gen?
The dual fuel is a model 295 and can a model 290 gen be used which looks just like a kero gen inside but only one spring
thx guys

I don't see why not. I've done it in the past for other gens that have the 'non-removable' pricker rods.

Clean and reinstall. I have done this to my 295 and 285 duals too, they work better after cleaning the gen but I also went down the fount  and deep cleaned the F/A too and changed Schrader valve once there with a new o-ring.

I have a few 295 generators (290 also), if you decide you need a replacement I can hook you up.
