Out in Greenwater Provincial park this week!  I havent been here since I was a kid.  This was our lake growing up....my dad was a teacher so we were here every summer.  Fantastic lake and great camping, good decision to come back.

As I sit in my lawn chair and ponder, a few ramblings come to mind....

I brought my coleman 3 burner 446B 3 burner stove and I have to say, it is a total gem of a stove.  What a beaut!

I also brought my 237 nickle lantern....hmmmmm.....my check valve is pooched and I cant get it to hold pressure.  Thought I had it sorted out but its a good lesson....check your crap before you leave the house!  Luckily my thing is redundancy and I have another one but it is.....shhhhhhhhh.......a model 5410 profane!!!!  Yikes!

I baught a fiskars ax on sale last summer and this is the first real usage.  Always been skeptical of fibre handled axes but WOW, this ax is awesome!  In my couple days use I have been more and more impressed ever time I use it.  I think I may even recommend for any of you fence sitters.

Lastly, I have just become a club member the last month or so and got my letter and history book in the mail ON MY WAY OUT OF TOWN!  SCORE!  I am halfway through the history of coleman book.  Delightful.

Enjoy your summer camping folks.

A model 5410 propane lantern? As Marlon Brando said in "Apocolypse Now", "The horror. The horror." Naw, yer excused. Good thinking having a back-up.

I have a fiskers axe and hatchet. If you fill the handle with great stuff expanding foam it will help absorb the shock in the handle. Makes if more comfortable to use.

Be sure to use a tube so that it can get down deep inside the handle otherwise it's only going to fill it partially and you'll have a void with air in it and it won't work
