Strange how I read the title as "strange trout fishing".

Now let's see that tool you're fishing with.
It's priceless until someone puts a price on it.
Walk a mile in a man's shoes before you criticize him--then you're a mile away, and he has no shoes.

I'll try to get you a picture tomorrow Timm, it's basically a cheapy pair of alligator forceps that's about 6 inches too long for fount fishing

It’s troubling the things people say about 275s, they run phenomenally and are fuel misers, put out exceptional light with the picket fence or perhaps the scalloped picket  fence globe.
I would like to talk to members of the marketing team when they were designed. I’m hoping they were nostalgic looking at an old school Brown Bomber.

Things would have turned out better if they were red or blue!

I frighten easily!

My current shade is Coleman!!

To me a lamp without a shade is creepy!

I agree Kevin, I have one nice runner that my father gave me. I really enjoy it. I don't even mind the brown myself... Also enjoy using the founts for franks ðŸ˜

Personally, I just can't get past the ugly color.  I think it's Dean that has 275's in both red and orange, and they're both gorgeous!

Flammable liquids, open flame, what could go wrong?

I've missed you!  But I'm reloading.

Don't forget the 275 was important to the company and ushered in a long line of models that helped keep a prior (much loved) semi-obsolete lantern popular.  Even the color was well thought out-- a move to help bring more natural colors into common use in outdoor activity products rather than the bright flashy colors then popular. Even Sheldon thought so!   ( Pic from Herb Ebendorf's great book.)275.jpg

given the time frame its obvious that Sheldon had just discovered magic mushrooms if he thought the 275 looked good and natural😎
