Can anyone tell me whether this metal lampshade was made by Coleman?  It was on the lamp when I got it but I never heard of metal shades, only glass and parchment. As the pics show, the top looks almost like grey granite ware, while the underside is reflective white like a 228 ventilator.

Others will come along and state for sure but I think it is a Coleman shade.

Not a common shade, and made for environments that you wouldn't or couldn't risk glass breakage.  That would likely fetch big bucks on the auction site.  They did a couple of years ago and prices have only gone up for virtually everything Coleman.  You did well!

Thanks to all who responded. Say, Chuck, might you say I sucked on telling you I picked this up at a resale shop (lamp and shade) in Chamberlin, SD for a whopping $22... 😎

We knew you deserved a 'You suck' for that find.  You now told us how much you suck.  🙂  Again, congrats on the score!

LMAO!
Heck, I was thrilled to get my first ‘slant’ lamp. Had no idea the shade was Coleman, too, or that it was scarce.
Glad I asked...

That's a great shade, and in great condition as well. Nice score.

Since the "barn shade" was made for rough use that a glass shade wouldn't likely survive, most are far, far more beat up than yours!

Great score on the lamp, too. I concur with the conclusions of others above: You suck, you lucky dog!
It's priceless until someone puts a price on it.

>>Never heard of a lamp being used in a barn!! Not sure who decided to start calling these barn shades either but it doesn’t make a lick of sense.

Until this thread, I've never seen it referenced as a barn shade either.  As I recall, it was referenced as an industrial shade.

How about unbreakable ? Here is one that is far more unusual and much harder to find.
