Greetings Lone Star Collectors club members ! During the last Corsicana,Texas gathering, a vote was passed to have the spring and fall gatherings split to include Buesher State Park in Smithville ,Texas as one of the two venues for the club gatherings. It was determined that the north and south locations would allow other members living south of the Austin area a closer place to be included in these great gatherings.
BY NO MEANS will Corsicana be removed or substituted with Buesher State park as the sole location. This was stressed many times during the meeting and yet some folks still think Corsicana will no longer be a venue. This is not the case.
The two locations simply allow other collectors to attend and meet their friends and make new friends that were unable to make the journey South of the Austin/Houston/San Antonio area up to Corsicana.
If you have a Face Book account, we have created a private members group for all and any updates (Thanks Robert Sheldon). I am an admin and please contact Robert or myself to be invited to the group if you have not already done so.
Personally, I will be attending both gatherings and distance is not a factor for me. I will be hosting the Buesher gathering however, dates are still pending. The outlook so far due to reservation issues would be the Corsicana gathering in spring and the Buesher gathering in the fall of 2019. Tentively.
A club banner is in the works,as well as T-Shirts. Updates and such will follow.
Thank you all for allowing me to host the Smithville gathering next year. I will strive to make it a great, fun and enjoyable experience to all.
Please feel free to ask any questions, give input, gripes,or suggestions... There will be a $5 service fee for whining however  LOL! Cheers all ! :-)

Thanks Rick. I guess we need to see if Corsicana is going to be available for the proposed dates for spring? That way we can go ahead and reserve it and then we can nail down Buesher state park details for The Fall gathering at the next Corsicana gathering?

Hope ya'll continue to hang on to Corsicana which is the closest gathering to me here is NW Louisiana.  Have never been to a gathering and had planned to make the last two, but other matters popped up that prevented it.  One day...

Hi Mike.  Yes we will continue to have the meetings in Corsicana.  The plan is to have one meeting per year in the Austin area and one in Corsicana.  Would love to have you come and hang out with us.

I would suggest contacting Corsicana and reserve for the Spring now. I cannot reserve the Buesher State Park pavilion as of this date. Too far in advance according to their reservations web site. Once I lock in the pavilion, I would suggest to all members go ahead and reserve your campsite. The park also has shelters and cabins along with RV pull ins and such very near by the primitive water only tent sites. I would strongly recommend to all members planning on attending, to visit the parks website and see what suites your needs as far as accommodations and the need for electrical power. Some members require electrical for C paps and other medical devices. The pavilion does have electric, and some have used it to charge portable units. However I must stress the campsites have running water only.

I agree ! I didn't care for it as well. I am going up to the State Park tomorrow 10/29 to speak to the park rangers at the main office. Really nice folks. There is a live person when you make reservations for the pavilion however and they are very nice as well. What I am told is they are revamping the reservation system and its taking some time.

Robert, you said to feel free to make suggestions, so here goes.  I like the top one best.  Leave out "welcome to the gathering of". Make the Coleman logo much larger.  It should be the focal point. Bottom line "Lone Star Chapter Coleman Collectors".  No outsider is going to know what ICCC is.  I do like the Texas flag!

I like the design, but too many different fonts.

I would get rid of the top two lines altogether, move up the “2nd annual” line and have the “Coleman collectors gathering” right below it in the same font as the bottom “Buescher state park”

Then put the “just east of weird” right above the picture in the font it is now, and leave out the “coming soon”

Just my 2 centavos.
Don’t sell yourself short judge, you’re a tremendous slouch.

2019 Fall gathering update !
Confirmed and booked ! Buesher State Park pavilion is ours for Oct 11,12 and 13th 2019. Please reserve your camp sites early.
Next on the agenda is the Banner and T shirts. I would need an approximate quantity and sizes to get the ball rolling plus a design for the t shirt. I was hoping to keep the  Calvin and Hobbs themed" East of Weird" logo from the inaugural first gathering and "2nd annual" with "Lone Star Coleman Collectors" added. Curly, what do you think, doable ? All input is welcome and encouraged. Thanks folks ! [1f642]
Curly, from others input and myself, could we keep that cool Calvin and Hobbs theme for the second annual gathering ? You really out did yourself on that design and was perfect !!
Not sure if we would have enough folks wanting T shirts yet. But a ballpark idea would be helpful :-)

OK guys. I'm trying to get the ball rolling on the banner. The size will be 2.5' x 8' outdoor grade vinyl with grommets. Cost will be approximately $50 to $75. I will need a high resolution image from Robert (curly). The one I have is too small and the images and printing would be blurry. If this size banner is too large and y'all think a smaller one would be better. Please let me know.
The cost of the pavilion was $120.00 and paid for.
I'm debating on the T shirts. I'm not hearing much input, and thinking for what it would cost for such a small quantity and various sizes. It may be too pricey.

The fall gathering is still on for Oct 11-13th. Not sure how many campsite openings are still available. You can check on the State Parks website. It's hard to determine if T-shirts will be available. Due to the unknown amount of people that will be attending and the price. I would hate to be stuck with a dozen or so SM to XXXL t-shirts at the end of the day.

I'll probably bring a few items for trade/sale plus, since I've been drinking the Tilley Kool-Aid, I'm planning to bring an armload  of those to tinker with and show off.
I might  even bring a stove or two and a coffee pot.

Gentlemen, For those that are camping at Buesher State park, you should have received an email to preregister for your site  online. I will be arriving early Friday to set up the pavilion (Banner, flag, signs and cleaning,etc..) and my camp site. Due to the size of the pavilion, please refrain from setting up your cooking stations in the pavilion so we can all have room for everyone's display. Your campsite has ample room for tents, shelters, tables and cooking areas. There is a very nice BBQ grill outside the pavilion for your use as well. There is a burn ban in effect, however contained fires are permissible (i.e. camp stoves and lanterns). There may be some rain,if so,they may lift the burn ban to allow the use of your fire pit on your campsite. Please check with the park rangers upon your arrival. In addition those with CPAP units and such, remember there is electric in the pavilion only ! May I suggest a 12v auto adapter or power pack unit for your charging needs. If you have any issues please feel free to contact me. My cell # is (940) 594-2588. Thank you all and can't wait to see everyone !
PS- I'm sure there will be an auction to help with the cost of the pavilion,so please bring some auction items !!!  [camp2]
