Remember the Brad Pitt movie were the killer cut off Brads wife's head and mailed it to him in a box. He kept saying "What's in the box".  Well that's what I thought of when I seen this cute little box,,,lol.

Man I just can't leave nothing behind. This was in some garage sale left overs that I missed. Negotiated to $15 over the phone.

I can't be the only one that went after this for $15 am I,,,lol. I seen a lot on ebay but not a lot with the boxes.

Speaking of the box. The nice young lady I got it from said you put the handle on it and put the stove in the box to carry it when it's hot. But it sure seems to me that that "BOX" could double as a cooking pot. Am I right,,,lol.

As of now the handle won't stay in if I insert it from the bottom. I assume I just need to bend a little tab or something?

It's dated 1967. Fairly nice shape.

The burner grate is not flat making the pot wobbly. Can I just take it off and flatten it out and put back on?

Easy on the older guys comment!

It’s called a cook kit.

And yes, you can remove the 3 screws, take the grate off and carefully bend it flat.

It’s a pot and a pan and the handle inserts from the bottom.  I have “7” of them  lol  FCFF3BF7-1355-43FE-9E11-E1155D1E7ADD.jpeg

Nice find, especially with the handle!  The handle is for lifting and moving the pot/pan around.  It isn’t designed to stay in the slot.  If you leave it connected to the pot/pan you might find it a bit warm when you go to use it in order to lift the cookware off the stove.

Yeah, if you leave the pot lifter in the pot while cooking, then pick it up... you'll find out what "Coleman Branded" really means. Same if you ever mistake the Bunsen for a handle.

The grate is easy to flatten out. It's had years of annealing over the flame, so the metal is quite soft. A small soft mallet or sometimes even just fingers will get it back in working shape.
It's priceless until someone puts a price on it.

Good find. I've had an eye out for one of these and one for the 530 for years, every time they come up the price is crazy.
