I found a large brown Coleman cooler with no date stamp on the bottom. It’s about 6” longer and 2 inches deeper than my other coolers is never seen one before. It has ribs on the inside and 1 big tray 1 small tray. What’s it called?
is it rare?

It's probably a 5256 Colossal Cooler. 1979-82. It came with a 1 gallon ice jug and a 25lb ice tub with lid/tray. There should be a date on the bottom.

I think it's in the corner panel. It's not the clock type, just two numbers, like "9  79".

15" x 28" matches the 5256 Colossal cooler specs. Those with the designs are likely custom, aftermarket stylings, or possibly a special run for a large retailer, but I've never seen anything like it before.

I can't see it clearly in your photo, but aren't there a couple of numbers above "Made by the..." on the corner panel underneath?

I see 8/78 is this a rare thing? What’s it worth? Not looking to sell!

No clue on rarity.  we don't do valuations here on CCF  - try Eprey Sold listings.  That will also get you an idea of rarity

Take a head-on pic of that corner panel with the "Made by" wording.  I am seeing what looks like a "77" next to the "Made by."

Not rare, but not common either. The brown color was only available for a few years (model years 1979-82, so 8/78 fits into that range), but I'm sure they sold lots of them. I don't see many of the Colossal coolers in general, although they were available for quite a while.
