Hey guys, gauging interest in a meet up for next month.

Here’s what I was thinking, 2/17/2019 at 1:30pm at the closed Best Buy in the Legends area by the Kansas Speedway. The Best Buy property is north of the main complex by Sams Club.

We met there last time and there is plenty of paved space. I figure the 1:30 time should let us finish up our worship or church duties. There’s plenty of eating options nearby.

(I hope to get back to the little diner in edwardsville sometime and support that small business, but they’re closed on Sunday’s)

Last time we had a theme of big Kero lanterns (236/237/and an appearance of one of those Nighthawks, I think).  Do we want to focus on anything particular this go around?

I'm getting my pile of stuff organized.

So far I'm planning to bring to trade or sell:

couple 200As
Painted 242c
3 position white label version 222
Some globes (220/288/maybe a sunrise 200)
New and used Parts
501 stove
500a stove
Green 200a/clamshell case
220 Slant

To show off and maybe sell/trade if the offer is good enough:

249
201
Red Ted
Accessory vent on a 220 slant
Model 2 stove

Will only bring if there is definite interest due to the hassle/danger of moving around:

Kerolite (no shade) with Coleman chimney
Black 150 lamp (no shade or globe)

Looking for:

Old stoves
214
Oddball new lanterns (centennial/heritage/200b/sportsman 288s/etc.)
Red 502a
backpacker series lanterns and stoves

I am interested in the 500a stove.  I don't have a very big collection yet, so I'm not sure I will have much trading material to bring.

Hey guys, do we want to reschedule if it is snowing?  I would hate for anyone to get in an accident since everyone is driving in from anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 hrs away.

Do we want to consider postponing if the forecast is accurate?

Localized weather forecast below - Saturday day looks to be cold - but crappy weather is on Friday and Saturday evening.  Saturday forecast depends a lot on what happens Friday it appears

Friday and Saturday are cold - highs in mid20's/30ish.  Parking lot will almost certainly NOT be plowed or salt/sand applied.

----------------------------
  • Other than a few sprinkles on Thursday, quiet weather is on tap until active pattern sets up late this week & lasts through the weekend.
    • Quick-hitting band of snow likely on Friday; 1-3" of accumulation is looking like a good bet.
    • Another system brings a good chance for light snow & possibly some freezing drizzle Saturday evening into Sunday morning.

I just drove home from work. Typically an hour drive. It took me 2.5 hours. I don’t want anyone to get in any accidents trying to get to the meet up. We’re gonna call it off and work on finding a new date u less everyone just wants to wait until the auction in April.

That sounds good to me John. April isn't that far off and there's also a gathering at Arrow Rock the first weekend in May for personal trading.
