Hey everyone...

The following is from the desk of Cigar Mike.  In order to get a head-count so we can plan for food, please RSVP via PM to OregonMichael and I will get you on the list.  Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

Place:

Rancho Sol de la Noche (Cigar Mike's Place a.k.a. Old Coleman Parts)

Date:  July 26th (after 5:00PM) and 27th, 2019

I will be available after 5:00PM on Friday the 26th for those who arrive early, but we have no activities planned for that day.

We will be having a special international guest in attendance this year!!!!

Oregon Michael, Gand28, and I will be providing a dinner of hamburgers and such on Saturday.  Any other food will need to be collaborated on among the attendees.  I have a BBQ grill that anyone can use.  Kalama has a few restaurants.  The Chinese place was voted one of the best 100 Chinese restaurants in the US.

There is an RV park that also has plenty of tent camping options only ½ mile from me.  It is called Camp Kalama.  Here is the link:

http://www.kalama.com/~campkalama/

There is also a Motel 6.  Here is the link:

https://www.motel6.com/en/motels.wa.kalama.8666.html/?pid=google:brand&utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=google&utm_campaign=brand&userguid=9851114f-ac0f-4a07-8662-5e808aeacdcd

I talked to Camp Kalama and she said if you have an RV it is best to call and make a reservation.  You cannot make reservations for a tent site.  They are first come, first served.  She said there has never been a problem ever getting a tent site.

Events planned:

It will just be very informal and kind of a do what you feel weekend.  If you want to have a swap meet sort of gathering then let me know and I can get tables.

The only restriction is no dogs at my place.  Too many distractions for dogs.  There are lots of deer and cattle.  The neighbor has shot dogs in the past who chased his cows.  Your dogs may get lost in the woods chasing deer.  I am in a very wooded area.  Plus my two cats are terrified of dogs.  It is also their home so they come first.  So other than no dogs you can do just about anything you feel.

Bring your Coleman stuff and have some fun!

Mike

Duane, the gathering is at Old Coleman Parts.  The mailing address for OCP is a P.O. Box, and not the physical address.  Mike just wants that made clear.

*UPDATE*

Everyone, I talked with Mike yesterday and he will not have access to as many sales/display tables this year as last.  The owner of the tables will be using them at a local swap meet.  Mike did say he should be able to provide two to four tables, but that's all.  Greg (Gand28) has found a local rental place that has tables for $10/day.  He's offered to pick up and bring them to Kalama for the gathering.  Obviously, if you have a folding table that you can bring, that would be great, too.

Please let either Gand28 or me know if you would like to rent a table and we'll get it coordinated.  Thanks all!!

Few pics, very nice meeting some of you guys, didn't feel too out going so left early after a couple hours, long drive to get home last night.  11, 12 hours, almost rear ended a vehicle going thru Portland, left some rubber and smoke behind.  Really smokey southern part of the state due to at least one fire until down by Red Bluff, CA.  Cigar Mike was great, got to see his store and "museum".  Picked up a nice 242NL from him.  Found a better vent for a beater 220E .
70mph where I could, stop and go thru Portland, road construction another stretch.  Poor Repo did not care for the high 90 degree temps in Cali.

Duane, thanks for making a stop at the OCP gathering.  It was great to meet you and Repo and although you weren't able to stay long, we're still glad you made it.  Hoping to see you again soon!

Greg, I wasn't going to mention this here, but the Wash. State trooper that pulled me over when he saw it hanging on my truck canopy as I drove back to my motel was less than amused when I told him the lantern was probably put there as a joke.
