I stopped in at the outlet store in Sevierville TN yesterday and saw some Japanese market Northstar lanterns. I bought one, new in box. There were 2 or 3 more. When I opened mine today it had a manufacture date of 02/13. I'm guessing they're old stock just being sent to the outlet store.  Resized_20191220_150619.jpeg

The instruction booklet is totally devoid of English and has a section for note taking in the back.

You're going to need the "Glorious Master Translator".  That is cool, decent price?  I've never been to an outlet.

Price on the shelf was $100. Yesterday they had a 20% off storewide sale.  Wound up paying roughly $80, which is the most I've ever paid for any lantern aside from my Goldbond. I just wanted to let everyone know in case anyone had interest in them.

TN has almost 10% sales tax to figure in also.  If you call the store, I think you can charge it over the phone and they can ship it to you and if you don't have an outlet in your state, they may not charge the sales tax.

If you  want one to be delivered to Hartford, I would probably work that out for you also.

I'll pay a small premium on the Japanese lanterns just because of the novelty. Funny thing is - the Japanese 286 I bought a few years ago and your North Star both sold for under average prices seen on the U.S. models.
