66 Indian creek loop
I think I bought a Burgundy 200a today. the color seems right and the date is 4-62 so it is a fairly late one. Has a red pyrex globe so not original. If this ain't a Burg, it sure fooled me. Price was right for a 200a any how.  0731201610-01.jpg  0731201613-00.jpg

Looks like a burg to me, I only have 2 left in my collection and they are both dated 10-61.

I thought the arched Pyrex was correct in 62? Nice lantern Jack, definitely jealous

A very nice one at that but why would the globe not be original?

could be. but that is the later fount with the bottom stamping. My burgs are all 1961, 9-61, 10-61 and 12-61. I've seen an earlier one without the borderless decal, and I am pretty sure they made a few in 1962. It helps to see the two side by side-the burg is darker than the maroon (cherry) red.

Yea, surely a sweet 2-hundy! Burg, cherry or otherwise.

Like Toby mentioned, arch Pyrex would be right for that year.

That’s a beauty. An arched red globe is correct. The question is the logo either with a trademark “R” or a little tiny lantern.    Either way almost no one would notice.

I forgot to mention it's stamped on the side and the bottem. I'm not familiar  with the bottem stamp

Looks like it from here.  Some from late 1961 are truly purple but that does look like one.    I usually just look for the contrast between the decal and paint.  A friend just got a 6-62.  The paint is more of a cherry red but the vent is very burgundy.  Never seen one quite like that.  Maybe he'll post it.

Both mine are dated 4-62

That is definitely a burg, with the correct globe. Congrats. That one is in excellent condition. I believe the last date was 5-62 on the burg before the color changed. I have a 3-62 and 4-62 that condition, and in their boxes. 10-61 seems be the date found most often. I have seen examples dated 9-61, but they're few and far between.

Well; I'm convinced, it's a real burgundy! Thanks for all the input ya'll. I will dig thru my stuff and try to find a globe with the R trade mark. I think I will really shine this one up and keep it in the house.

I bought this 3-62 from Pat Engbring.  I have always believed it to be burgundy.  This is a picture of what is often considered the correct globe for a burg.  No lantern logo in the bottom left hand corner.  I think either logo is correct for a 1962 model though.

Thanks for globe info...Never noticed the different logo, using a magnifying glass, I found one on a beater late 70s 200a in my pile. Spent some time looking at globes and stamps this morning and not many with the R. I wonder when the R went away and the little lantern showed up?

On 1962 and later globes the R didn’t go away. It moved to the opposite side when they added the lantern.
Here’s a handy reference on US globes.
