If my children can’t help with tech questions then I will ask my g’kids to help me. Please be specific where you are having trouble with Terry’s site. Sometimes Terry will jump into the forum as well.

Kind of ironic.  I'd venture to guess half the over 40 crowd get help from kids/Grandkids on tech stuff.

Heck,  I'm pretty tech savvy, and my youngest daughter (25) has "upgraded" the home theater setup  (Gaming and the Amazon Firestick) to the point that I need help to reset for what I want (I rarely watch TV, and the original basis of the HT, was me setting it up...  so mildly annoying.  There are WAY too many remotes...)

Yep, I don’t even know how to turn our television on.

@outlawmws My parents figured out the secret to the remotes. They bought the same brand of all the stuff and you only use the main tv remote to control it all. Also, does your daughter still live with you, or do yo play video games. The oldest person I know that plays video games is my grandpa at the age of 77. He plays Left for Dead.

@Rubing No, I mean I understand it fully now. Just a joke. Fresh country air is so clear you can’t even see it. I’d be pretty mad if I couldn’t see my crystal in a ring or something. I just realized an issue with that saying. Not all crystal is clear. Only the most valuable crystal is. A lot of crystal is cloudy and undesirable.

@Rubing Why don’t you get the same type tv from your childhood. They have adaptors to hook up new stuff like cable and hdmi for blue ray and DVD players to a tv from the 50s. I inherited a zenith tv from the early 70s and I play PlayStation and super Nintendo on it. It may have depressing graphics but if it helps you to understand your television then why not.

Technically to complete the set you need four 150 burners, four 150K burners, two green vases, two black vases, two ivory vases and two red wine vases. Isn’t that depressing?

Nice, Greg.  Another great addition to your stash.  You need to find a good book to read under that light.  Something about historic times, like "Undaunted Courage," by Stephen Ambrose, chronicling the adventures of Lewis and Clark.  Great read.

She moved back after graduating collage to try to pay down college debt, and prep for an advanced degree.

I haven't got into a game real heavy since we migrated off the computer that had Decent, and Decent mission builder and Cyberia on it.  I was one of the very few that actually busted past level seven in Decent without a cheat code (it took me an entire Christmas vacation, but I did it...)

I'm not going to throw $$ at the HT til I'm ready to (re)build up the tube amps I have that make the so called "home theater" sound systems sound like toys (especially the so called sub woofers...)  I'll couple the pair of those with the Outlaw (coincidence, its a brand) Preamp for a TRUE theater experience.  I've already done some play testing and war movies are KILLER. (The beginning scenes of "Enemy at the gates" are stunning).  Of course this is only possible with REAL serious speakers.  My fronts and rears are Snells from the 80's, and back then cost $1600 EACH.  The mated third woofers (one for each amp) are 15" Golden voice speakers from the early Motorola console stereos.  That mounted in an infinite baffle will produce more bass than any sub I've seen.  I've used an oscillator and got it to produce at 20Hz.

if it makes you feel any better, I bought the green one twice!  I traded it away for a GB200a and some other things.  About 6 months later the other member was ready to scale back and it came back home again.

I’m sure yours was a much better deal than mine.  I didn’t pay the bay prices but They were the most expensive purchases up to that point.

Sadly no.  Farmers didn’t have a lot of extra cash for camping toys.  The Pacific Northwest and Michigan, especially the UP seem to be goldmines.  Lots of outdoor activities and, in the case the the Upper Peninsula, Electricity was late getting there.

The rural electric cooperative did a good job of electrifying most areas on Kansas during the mid to late 1930s.

Some places that have concentrations of Mennonite and Amish populations have lots and lots of GPA.  It’s a crap shoot though because those were utilitarian items and worked to death.

You would think so but with the Amish influence in SW MI and Northern IN we seem to come across many more desirable lanterns.
They do find many more odd ball Centennial lanterns etc out there because the Amish had no desire for them. Keep your eye out for 200Bs as the Amish seemed to scoop them up after the 200As were discontinued

I was just about to make a joke about how I’m moving to Gary or something ASAP but after looking a some pictures of Gary, nahhh. I’ll stick with Muncie. It almost seems like a luxury city compared to Gary. Ohhh I just remembered, in cities surrounding my there are big farmlands with thriving Amish. They may have a store or something where they sell their old junk. There is an Amish good store about 30 minutes away. 🤔

It’s a really nice place with cool trails under the canopy of trees) we saw some Amish hauling a cart full of lanterns with red tops. Not sure what they all were but I’m gonna guess mostly if not all 200a’s

Well if the the don’t show color then you can’t do nothing about it. The tv from the 70s I have must’ve been soooooo expensive. It’s got a really cool remote with a bunch of functions on it. The tv has controls for color and contrast and all of those other special color specifications. I’ll be sitting there playing the newest call of duty in black and white or some EXTREME contrast. Basically different colors than they’re supposed to be.
