Since "Strike anywhere Matches are very hard to find (and SWMBO likes a more decorative box for house hold use)  We wound up this the "mid sized" matches.  These are in between the smaller 3 Star matches and the full sized "Kitchen matches.

I have to say, using these for lighting candle, BBQ and lanterns,  these guys seem to have gotten it right for the strike on box matches.  These light easily and reliably, and are longer than the 3 Stars, so handier for getting into a lantern.  Even better, the striker plate on the box does not wear out before the matches are gone!

So FWIW:

Here is what they look like and size compared to kitchen matches and the 3 star.

You can get them with different "decorator" motif's as well...

Those must be children's matches.  When I click on the link, at the top of the page is "Shop the kids store by age" with a selection for ages .  Anything for a dollar Amazon?

I've been having some issue with my kitchen matches lighting when out camping, maybe just enough humidity.

Duane I always store my matches of any type in sealed containers for camping.  Its just impossible to find a Tupperware that fits the std Kitchen match box well though...  I have some more than a decade old still good.

I do the same, but I also tend to dip mine in either wax or my wife's clear nail polish.

Karen,

That's hilarious!  Thanks for posting.

The second pic with the kid pouring gasoline on a fire, he can watch adults do that on Youtube.  What a fun way for adults to clean the gene pool!
