I was able to ditch the 100++ dirt field I call home and headed to Lake City Co. The last time I was here was the late 80’ as a kid vacationing with my parents. I’m enjoying the cooler temps and plan on doing some fishing the next couple days. Today I tackled the Alpine Loop (the cinnamon portion). I made it to Silverton for a ice cream cone and then back down. Here’s a few pics I snapped when I was able to take them. I saw 2 avalanches from this past winter and one pic is of a traffic Jam that luckily I just missed. Thanks for looking!!

I think the internet/WiFi shuts down with the rest of this town when the sun goes down. I’ll try the pics later. Maybe the video works??

Yep, looks like you’re in Colorado, Jason!  Great pictures and I appreciate you sharing them.  Somewhat in my backyard but I haven’t had the chance to get out lately.

Sounds just like Lubbock except it’s  irrigated so I’m surrounded by cotton fields.

Mark, I haven’t  been to all the states but Colorado is probably the most beautiful one I’ve  been to.

Bill Fries, ie CW McCall did a great narration of that area back in the 70's Black Bear Road album.

Beautiful pics of beautiful areas.  I've been to most of the eastern side of the US, the 3 Pacific Ocean-states, and Texas.  Most in the center-west of the country I've never been to.  I pray I get the chance to see a lot of it sometime, those who live there are in God's country, as an avid outdoorsman and offroader, I'd definitely be in my element.

I love that area.  I've camped in the campground at Lake San Cristobal.  Have also driven most of the Alpine Loop with my Jeep EXCEPT FOR Cinnamon Pass!  Maybe I'll get out there later this year.

I am still debating if I want to do engineer pass but the cinnamon one was hell on my bad back. I might try my luck fishing at Lake San Cristobal one day.

Too close for comfort. I was fishing by a big tree and couldn't see around it. I was gathering my stuff to leave and I made some noise and then heard a noise and saw a cloud of dust around the tree. I guess he snuck on me and I startled him. EBB82E77-DD00-40C0-94B1-952ACCA60E30.jpeg  BE5BC659-3A86-4B46-AA5F-92802202FA47.jpeg  6CF7A77B-3C93-42E7-B5B6-4B0895DD1AC9.jpeg
