I'm new at this , so I"m confused about tried ti Id a lantern. There is an 8 and a 10 under the stamped font , I guess an mica lens , but what is very different from all the pictures is a vertical adjustment knob ??? Green painted top and chrome bottom , any help ? thnx

Sounds like you have a October of 1928 slant generator L228 or L220 depending on the vent size. The vent is actually green porcelain not paint.
