This came up on the local ad and it caught my eye cause of its gold color. Is this a factory lantern or some sort of Frankie?

Somebody has stripped all the paint off a 242

Also wrong valve stem, probably a 200a valve assembly in it.

That's what I thought, neat looking. I wonder how they got the vent in that finish.

That vent is wild!! Almost looks like someone removed the porcelain and highly polished the steel.

It's a factory lantern in that it was made in a factory, but Coleman never released one in bare brass.

I too am curious about that vent.  It may not be original, but I like the look.

Hey, if it speaks to you that's OK. Just know Coleman didn't make them that way. Someone buffed it. And buffed it. And buffed it some more.

It's sad to see all of the nickel or paint stripped, but that vent is killer. I'd buy it just for the vent if the price was decent.

$80 is a bit step, I would offer him half that a call it a deal. Globes are getting harder to find these days and epay prices are increasing

You know, I hate to say it, but that does look good.  With the COVID 19 curtailing many activities, I may try duplicating the frankenlanternintizing of an old 242.  Except, the vent is baffling? How was it done?

Looks like the vent is nickle plated. There is a person that will strip the vent and nickle plate it for you.
