HI am still alive for those who wondered. Haven't been active with this hobby much lately since I don't have a lot of space, and cheap projects don't come up as much anymore anyway. But today I restored a nice 335 for a friend who is planning to use it camping. In exchange he gave me another kind of project, a 1970s 2m all mode ham radio - that's something I've been playing with more lately, even managed to get on HF 80m from an apartment balcony. Also my stoves have come in handy when I set up in a park or in the woods with HF dipole in the trees. It's a great hobby for the times we live in, social distancing built-in! More people on the air due to this locally, too.
Hope everyone is safe and sane - and has fun things to do! 🙂

Great to see you stopping by, Alex! The ham radio stuff is interesting-I got my license 40 years ago, and upgraded to Tech about 20 years ago, did some 2m work.

Hi Alex. Great yo see you back on here. Not been on here much the past year or so myself, but with covid having shut so much down been getting on a little more regularily. Not been buying anything. Yard sales pretty much non existent in my area and can't remember the last flea market or antique store i have visited.

A ham license is a great investment, good idea.

You've been here longer than most. Are you still a student? Grad school?

Thankfully not in school anymore. Working in an office building, keeping its mechanical systems running.

Looks like 10 years ago it was much easier, 10-20$ deals on Craigslist daily. Now they want 30 at least for something very ordinary and rundown. If it's any interesting - then more! A nickel 200 is just crazy. But I don't really have space. If I find something very very awesome, I'll take it, but otherwise no point.

I'm pretty much in the same boat, GPA-wise. Very few sales, high prices--and running out of anywhere to put what I already have!

Welcome back!
It's priceless until someone puts a price on it.
