Ah cmon man. Why couldn’t there be mass power outages in Indiana
My friends don’t call me “Lantern Levi” for nothin’,
if they did call me that.

That is why I refuse to have smart meters. The power company states, even in Michigan, they brown out your house or shut off your power whenever and for whatever reason they want remotely using the new smart meters for electric and gas. I pay extra every month to have a real person read my meter.

they cancelled it early last night for our area, around 6pm they lowered the alert level to 2. Supposed to be hotter today and tomorrow though so may not be so lucky.

I find it fascinating that the state that is the leader in technology development can't figure out how to keep the lights on for everyone.

Out Governor is all over this, said he is going to investigate.  Hmmm, didn't the petroleum industry get checked into a few times?

That wasn't an option for me. 🙁  They changed my meter to the kind they can shut off and turn on remotely.  Already had the remote read type but this was an "upgrade".

We don't need the power co. to turn off our juice--we have trees and wind!

We had a bit of a storm yesterday evening. A 60 mph. gust took down a tree next door, resulting in the power going out for about 6 hours. Too damn hot and humid to even think about using a lantern inside, so out comes the WWII US Navy Battle lantern I converted to LED and rechargeables. Good thing to have!
It's priceless until someone puts a price on it.
