We just found out in the last day and a half that all the fireworks shows are now canceled. I was looking forward to going. We have missed the last couple years due to work and travel so I was looking forward to it.

In its stead I offer these from a previous year. Happy Independence Day! Stay cool!

Congrats, Pancho!

Many/most/almost all of the usual municipal fireworks displays are canceled around here.  My mom loves fireworks and we are usually opening the cottage around now (can't this year, Canada's got the border closed) and she observed that here is a rare 4th that we're home and no one is having any fireworks displays.

STAY HOME people. Fireworks you can see another time.

And CANADA doesn't have the Border closed, both countries have mutually agreed to keep it closed. That being said, you won't find a Canadian who wants it opened any time soon.

Happy 4th of July my neighbors to the south. Get better soon.
Stay calm and wash your hands!

Yeah, I misspoke, the border is mutually closed.  Still doesn't help me to check on and maintain my property there, or stop the tax bill from arrving this week.  Oh well.

Our local show will go on.

The show is at Wallowa Lake, which has one road in and out. The traffic is horrible at the best of times, so I haven't gone up there for years. The last time I went, it took so long to get out of the lake area that I got home about 1 AM!

Fortunately, we can see it pretty well from a buddy's front deck, plus we can see the unauthorized shows--which often surpass the official one--in the rest of the valley.
It's priceless until someone puts a price on it.

Happy 4th everyone south of the line!  Congrats Poncho.  It is too bad the border has to stay closed....there was some talk about regional openings but I dont think will happen.  Enjoy the weekend!

Happy Fourth to everyone, and especially Pancho!
Remember what the founders placed on the line to bring this country into existence...  Everything!  A great number of men who were not yet even US citizens (because there was not yet a United States of America) gave their lives for this ideal and dream of freedom and the right to choose our leaders.  Amazing!

Again, congratulations, Pancho.  Shawn is right about the "hard" way,  The citizenship test, from what I know of it, isn't trivial.  I know I would have to brush up on a few things to pass it.
