Spent Saturday night on Goat Mountain. This is a "bring lots of water" hike, thus the dogs are playing pack mule.

We made it. Dogs are tired. The furry ones, not my feet. Well, they were tired too

The old Ponderosa we are camped under used to be a fire lookout.

And to keep it a little on topic, the Optimus 77 cooking dinner. I really like this alcy stove

Nice pictures and happy looking dogs.
I found a new respect for the simplicity of alcohol stoves last year with the addition of a Trangia, perfect for the intended use.

Great camping spot, Keith! and looks like a good view just behind the kitchen.  All the dogs struck a nice pose for their picture!  Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful area Kieth; mountains have a calming effect on one. But, I have to say, I wanted a picture of "what's cooking!"

There is a Knorr noodle side dish of some sort with some green chili's cookin..  Breakfast was Couscous with brown sugar and milk. And lots of coffee. Well, not enough coffee, water rationing in effect.

Great pictures.  I like that area in NW Montana.  I see you are reading Angle of Repose.  I started that book once but didn't finish it.

On my monitor, your pictures are properly proportioned. Settings on your machine?

And the pictures make me feel like I need to be there.
It's priceless until someone puts a price on it.

Yeah, the alcy stove is nice. There is never any worry about it. It works. Always amazes me how fast it gets a pot of water boiling. Not exactly ultralight backpacking, but not too bad.

Took my "new" Optimus 324 out tonight for a cookout in the meadow, but that's a  different story.
