I found this in the wild. It looks like a Lz but it is rough. Can it be cleaned up? I have bought any thing in a while just not enough room. Just could pass it up for $ 25. I had never saw a LZ in the wild.

$25???  Run and buy it now!  Anything can be cleaned up.  The pimp alone is worth $25.  Great score.

Looks from here like an early one by the frame and smaller 1/4” support rod. What is the letter stamp on the fiber fuel valve wheel ?

I bought it before I left. Is it a Lz 327 or 427? Will paint stripper remove the nickel?

Paint stripper won’t hurt the nickel.  Lye, or oven cleaner will help remove the grunge on the vent, fount, basically all the metal parts.  It will strip paint also most of the time.  Rinse good, polish with Mother’s or equivalent and you might be surprised how good it looks.  BTW, an LZ327 for $25?  May I respectfully say,  YOU SUCK!!!

There's been an alarming increase in the number of things I know nothing about.

Wow!

That's in great shape by my standards! Paint often really preserves the nickel-plate underneath. You might be pleasantly surprised.
It's priceless until someone puts a price on it.

Joey, I’m in the north central part of the state.
Thanks for the image, hope to see it again after it is cleaned. 😁

I have not cleaned a fiber wheel covered that heavily, I don’t think stripper will harm it done in a timely manner, I would imagine you will need to brush the outer grooves clean with a fine wire brass brush after stripper.

I have been here for two weeks working from home. It was at camp flea. I was looking for a old wood pair of skis for lake house wall. I was looking for lanterns, 4b Coleman iron and a USFS lantern. I saw the red tank from a far and thought I found one.

For iPhone you need to take pictures landscape mode (horizontal) then select size before uploading them (I use Medium size) or crop your images/photos just a bit and then you wouldn't need to resize them. I do that
