Murff mentioned using this earlier today since the forum is having issues with storage, so I thought I'd share how to use it. First thing to do is go to  https://postimages.org/ then go down to choose images.

[Screenshot-20200915-174011-2]

Then after uploading your pictures you will then go to direct link.

[Screenshot-20200915-174536-2]

Now you can go to your post here on the forum and paste the link. No need to resize that I can see, and it helps with the forum capacity. Thanks Murff for the heads up. This will probably be my go to from now on. Any other tips welcomed in the comments as well. Have a nice evening.

What in the world is that??? 228 vent on a 242 burner on a 427 fount?
My friends don’t call me “Lantern Levi” for nothin’,
if they did call me that.

Looking for bday lanterns 8/38, 8/41,
10/25, and 8/07

I have a Flickr Pro account. It gives me unlimited storage and I can organize my pictures to make them easier to find. If I actually do organize them....
It's priceless until someone puts a price on it.

Timm, is that free? Yearly fee? One time payment? Would be nice to have things organized for quick access.

You can get a free account, which still allows you to build "albums" to organize your photos. Limited storage and I don't honestly remember what other advantages the Pro account has. Pro is something like $50 every six months.

Oh, yeah, just remembered--the Pro account is now monthly. Something about changing the company that processes payments.

i mostly post from my iPhone XS and Imgbb is easy to operate in my phone. I’d say Apple friendly, also my desktop is iMac so no android or PC here 🤭

Just another company that may hold your photos hostage. Photobucket really damaged every forum I’m on.

I have to admit, I'm sure I had a big part in overloading the forum with photos, I post lots of pictures weekly, all resized to max allowable size, for no real use at all really. Just showing what I worked on that day or asking what is this. I did not know about these third party hosting sites, as this is really the only forum I've ever been active on. From now on I see no reason to not use the method above for my kind of posting. Save the space for useful guides and tech support questions.

As far as I'm concerned the majority of my pictures can be removed as I have anything that matters to me saved back anyhow. Mostly just collection pieces I've been posting anyway.

Murff, does a resized jpeg pic <320kb actually take up less forum space than a Postimage?  I'm leery of "free" 3rd party sites.

The Postimage photos take zero space from the forum as they are hosted on Postimage.

I have used Postimage for several years here and on my eBay auctions. I find they work well.

Toby, that is the most beautiful Frank ive ever seen!! The absolute only way to make the photo more wicked would be to coil a SW Missouri Cottonmouth around the fount, but i will not hold that against ya!! That lantern ROCKS!!!

Thanks Bob! It's definitely a favorite. As far as the cottonmouth I've seen hundreds in my life, but never one here at my place.. But it wouldn't be a surprise if a copperhead photo bombed one of my lanterns ðŸ˜‰

Posting correct size pics

1.   Linked to Flickr works fine
2.  From laptop works fine
