Seen more irons than lanterns or stoves today. Even some oddballs I'm not familiar with. Thanks for looking

I went to the one in st Genevieve after work cause I was in the area. It’s the largest in the area. Only 3 overpriced mid 70s lanterns and this place is the size of a Walmart. I did find what appears to be a Coleman produced for sears Iron. I ended up leaving it there and found it later on terry marshes site.

Some nice variety there! The prices don't look too crazy on several of them.

I've got a few irons, cleaned up a couple but aint fired one yet. They are kinda cool tho. Wish I could get money like that out of them, I'd be out of irons fast. Have discovered that some of the fuel caps will fit on 242 size lanterns , handy when you need a pump replacement also have used some of the r55 gens on lamps and quick lites. Wonder if you could use the parts to make some sort of Frankie style pocket stove or heater?

Another rabbit hole huh Jack?  I own one 4A and fired it up, but as I aquire more and more of the lantern models, trying to find something different becomes harder and harder.. Irons start looking better and better Ã°Å¸ËœÂ Would've definitely had plenty of variety today. They're all local to us if your interested

Thanks for the pictures, Toby.  The Akron you're holding in one of the pictures (iron with the odd, square tank) is nice, having the pump in the handle (I have one.)

Lots of neat irons. I got my one and only 4a going last week. Waiting on a trivet to arrive. Got everything else ready to try it out. Figured I’d experiment on a pair or two of work pants. Dang handle gets HOT even on a low setting. If I’d have seen that many irons at one time, my head would’ve exploded from trying to decide which one(s) to get lol!

Anybody have any idea what the trivet does in the first picture of post 6? Looks like it has a tank built onto it.

I think the reason
I have stayed away from irons so far, is that I have absolutely no interest in using one.

I was wondering the same thing. I wonder if it is actually a heater for the sad irons? The solid ones you heat one a stove or special kerosene burner.

Me either, and my wife doesn't do much either. We have 3 electric irons, and I doubt any have been used on clothes for 5 or 6 years. heat setting adhesives, other art related endeavors sure, but clothes iron on actual clothing never.
